Job Description
Responsible for providing administrative, communications, and fundraising support to the Miami-Dade Environmental Education Providers (EEP) non-profit organization. The EEP is a consortium of local not-for profit organizations, government agencies, universities, green businesses, and public school educators and administrators from Miami-Dade County that share a common interest in providing environmental education to members of our community.
Primary Tasks
- Coordinate monthly EEP meetings, including scheduling location, speakers, refreshments, agendas, meeting minutes, and help to facilitate discussions.
- Manage paperwork necessary to maintain the EEP’s 501c3 status as per the organization’s by-laws, structure and any relevant legal requirements.
- Maintain and regularly update the EEP’s web calendar and website.
- Develop workshops and programs to train EEP members to further develop their environmental education skills and knowledge.
- Lead the EEP in implementation of its strategic plan that details program work in the areas of professional development, administration and fundraising, and marketing.
- Lead fundraising for the EEP, including grant writing and securing corporate and individual donations.
- Create, condense and distribute the EEP’s weekly announcements newsletter.
- Maintain and update the EEP’s contact database.
- Develop and distribute the EEP’s communications materials.
Compensation and Position Details
Hours: 20 hours a week (part - time position)
Rate: $15.00 - $17.00 an hour; negotiable based on education level and related experience
Contract period: 1 year

Qualifications
Seeking self-motivated candidate with the ability to work independently and create and follow through with activities. Strong organizational and facilitation skills, strong computer and writing skills, and enthusiasm and commitment to South Florida’s environment are needed. Knowledge of the South Florida community, school system, environmental issues, and non-profit organizations are preferred.
